The Council of Europe is inviting young people to join an international conference in Strasbourg, France, on 9-10 November 2026. Organised under the initiative "Youth Facing Disinformation - Why Journalists Matter", a flagship initiative supported under the Monaco Presidency of the Committee of Ministers, this event offers a unique opportunity to engage with journalists, digital creators, and decision-makers

Who can apply

Young people aged 18-30 residing in a Council of Europe member State with an interest or experience in areas such as:

• journalism and media;
• digital content creation;
• media and information literacy;
• education and youth work;
• human rights and democratic participation;
• fact-checking, AI or information integrity.

Participants will:

• discover how disinformation impacts democracy and why protecting journalists is vital.
• build practical, hands-on skills through interactive workshops.
• connect directly with European journalists, creators, and policymakers.
• shape future strategies for trustworthy information and democratic resilience.  

Travel, accommodation, and meals are fully covered by the Council of Europe for selected participants.

Working languages: English and French (with interpretation during plenary sessions).
