The European Commission is hosting the EU Civic Tech Hackathon from 22–23 June 2026 and invites individuals and organisations with an interest or experience in civic technology and democratic participation to take part.

Held alongside the High-Level Event on Democracy on 24 June 2026, the hackathon contributes to the European Democracy Shield and aims to strengthen democratic resilience and citizen engagement across the EU.

Who can apply

Developers and designers, civic tech organisations, civil society actors, researchers, start-ups and SMEs, and public authorities.

Travel and accommodation covered by the Commission.
