The European Labour Authority (ELA), the EU agency based in Bratislava, Slovakia, works to make sure EU rules on working abroad and social security coordination are applied clearly and effectively. It is inviting university graduates, including those who recently earned a degree through lifelong learning and are starting a new professional path, to apply for its traineeship programme 2026/2027.
Who can apply
Candidates must:
- Be from an EU Member State, or
- An EEA EFTA country: Iceland, Liechtenstein, Switzerland, or Norway, or
- From one of these candidate / potential candidate countries: Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, North Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, Serbia, Turkey, Ukraine, or Kosovo.
- Have completed at least the first cycle of university studies and obtained their degree by the deadline,
- Or provide an official letter if they are currently doing postgraduate studies,
- Have very good language skills: for EU candidates, this means at least two EU languages, including English.for candidates from the other eligible countries, very good English is required.
What the traineeship offers
The traineeship lasts 6 to 12 months and is planned to start in October 2026.
Trainees currently receive 1,538.16 EUR per month.
If their journey to the traineeship location is more than 50 km, they may also receive a 400 EUR travel allowance for travel at the beginning and end of the traineeship.
Where
The traineeships will take place in Bratislava, Slovakia and Brussels, Belgium.
