The Nipkow fellowship programme designed for international film and media professionals to develop and refine projects in Berlin through a curriculum tailored to meet their individual needs and aspirations. The emphasis of the programme is on project development, with the ultimate aim of initiating international co-productions and promoting their worldwide distribution.

Eligibility requirements

• Professional writers, directors, producers or animators from all over the world (no students).
• Have completed a first feature length film (more than 70min.) either fiction, documentary, cross media or series. 
• The project is a new feature-length project destined for theatrical release (fiction, documentary, animation).
• Minimum a first draft of the script must be available in English, or a developed treatment for documentary projects.
• A producer is already attached to the project.

Benefits

Monthly grant of EUR 1.500

The selected participants must complete their fellowship between 1 June and 30 November 2026.
